New: Save a Scanned Product as a Combo

If you buy the same muesli, the same bread or the same soup every week, you've probably scanned its barcode more than once. As of version 2.14, you only need to do it once.

How it works

  1. Scan the product as usual.
  2. On the results, adjust what you like: untick plants you didn't eat, set quarters or halves.
  3. Tap Save as a Combo.
  4. The name is filled in with the product's name. Change it or keep it, then Save.

The button changes to Combo Saved, and the results screen stays open so you can still add the plants for today.

Next time, go to Track Combo on the home screen and log the whole product in one tap. Your quarters and halves are kept.

Good candidates

  • Your usual bread
  • A breakfast cereal or muesli
  • A ready-made soup you buy often
  • A seed or nut mix
  • A stir-fry vegetable pack

Premium

Saving combos is part of Premium, and this is no exception. On the free version, the button shows a small lock and opens the upgrade screen.

The pre-filled name is a small thing we're quite pleased with. Nobody wants to type "Seeded Sourdough Bloomer" on a phone keyboard.

Eating30 is an app for iPhone and Android that counts the different plants you eat each week, with 30 as the target. The core tracking is free. It's a habit tracker, not medical advice.

Count your plants with Eating30

Tap the plants you eat and watch your week fill up towards 30.
