Eating30 in Two Minutes: What the App Does

Eating30 is an app for tracking how many different plants you eat each week, with 30 as the target. It's on iPhone, iPad and Android.

The basic loop

  1. You eat something.
  2. You open Track Plants and tap the plants that were in it.
  3. A circle on the home screen fills up towards 30.
  4. When your week starts again, it resets.

That's most of it, and it's free.

What makes logging quick

  • A database of more than 430 plants and colour varieties, in seven categories, translated into six languages
  • Quarter and half amounts for herbs, spices and small portions
  • A barcode scanner that reads a packet's ingredients and finds the plants
  • Suggestions on the home screen based on what you usually log at this time of day
  • On iPhone: Siri ("Log plants in Eating30") and a home screen widget with quick add buttons

What else is in there

  • Eat the Rainbow: a ring showing which of five colour groups you've eaten, by week or by day
  • 30 achievements, from your first three plants to a year of 30-plant weeks
  • Optional reminders, a midweek nudge and a weekly recap
  • Your own plants and categories, and the option to hide ones you never eat
  • iCloud sync between iPhone and iPad, with no account

What's in Premium

Saved combos, Past Picks, the Full Journal with search and filters, CSV export, extra stats and, on iPhones with Apple Intelligence, AI Search. On iPhone you can buy it once or subscribe.

What it isn't

It's not a calorie counter and it's not a medical app. It counts variety. That's the whole job.

Eating30 is an app for iPhone and Android that counts the different plants you eat each week, with 30 as the target. The core tracking is free. It's a habit tracker, not medical advice.
